‘Not A Single Video Can Be Called Pornographic’: Raj Kundra’s Lawyer Calls His Arrest 'Illegal'

Raj Kundra got arrested on July 19, 2021, in connection to an alleged case related to the production of pornographic movies.

Mumbai: Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra, who got arrested in an alleged pornographic case, has been sent to police custody till July 27 along with Ryan Thorpe. Raj Kundra was produced before the court earlier today where the police got his extended custody which was supposed to end today.

Raj Kundra got arrested on July 19, 2021, after a long interrogation by the Crime Branch of Mumbai Police. He has been arrested in connection to an alleged case related to the production of pornographic movies. However, his lawyer Subhash Jadhav has claimed that Raj Kundra’s arrest is ‘illegal’. According to the businessman’s lawyer, ‘not a single video’ can be called ‘pornographic’.

While speaking to ETimes, Raj Kundra’s lawyer told that they will move High Court in this matter. He further added, “Raj Kundra’s arrest is illegal. There is not a single video which can be called pornographic. A 4000 page charge sheet has been filed but the police not even able to point out any sexually explicit act in the video which demonstrated illegality under section 67a. Rest of the section applied are bailable.”

Now, reportedly, police are suspecting that the money earned from the alleged ‘pornography’ films, was used for ‘online betting’. A report in ANI reads, “Police suspect that money earned from pornography was used for online betting. This is why transactions between Raj Kundra's Yes bank account and United Bank of Africa account need to be investigated, Mumbai Police tells Court”.

Meanwhile, Gehana Vasisth, who got arrested earlier this year for her alleged role in making pornographic films and uploading on a website, revealed that Raj Kundra was planning to launch his sister-in-law Shamita Shetty on his new app.
