'Hera Pheri 3 Can’t Happen Without Paresh Rawal': Suniel Shetty Reacts To Babu Bhaiya’s Exit

Suniel Shetty reacts to Paresh Rawal's exit from Hera Pheri 3, calling it heartbreaking. The actor says the film cannot happen without Babu Bhaiya.

Paresh Rawal's exit from the iconic Hera Pheri franchise has left fans across the nation stunned. Reacting to the news, Suniel Shetty has now voiced his deep disappointment, stating that making Hera Pheri 3 without Rawal — who immortalized the character of Babu Bhaiya — is practically impossible.

In a candid conversation with ANI, Suniel Shetty called the news "an absolute shock" and added that while the third film might somehow go on without him or Akshay Kumar, there is absolutely no way it can work without Paresh Rawal.

Suniel Shetty on Babu Bhaiya's exit

“It’s an absolute shock to me. I heard it yesterday and today some more news came out. I need to call and find out. I am completely heartbroken because if there was one film that I was looking forward to, it was Hera Pheri,” he said.

When reminded that Hera Pheri 3 without Babu Bhaiya feels unimaginable, Shetty agreed completely.

“No, it cannot happen. It cannot 100% happen without Paresh Rawal. It can 1% happen without me and Akshay, but 100% can’t happen without Paresh ji. Raju and Shyam — if they are not hammered by Babu Bhaiya, it doesn’t work,” Shetty added.

The Legacy of Hera Pheri

The Hera Pheri franchise began with Priyadarshan’s 2000 cult classic, which introduced the unforgettable trio — Akshay Kumar (Raju), Paresh Rawal (Babu Bhaiya), and Suniel Shetty (Shyam). Thanks to its slapstick humor, iconic dialogues, and timeless performances, the film became a fan-favorite across generations.

Its success led to the 2006 sequel Phir Hera Pheri, which, although not as critically acclaimed as the original, was a massive commercial hit.

Fans have been anticipating Hera Pheri 3 for years. However, Paresh Rawal’s departure has cast a dark cloud over the project. Many viewers are now urging the filmmakers to pause or reconsider the film unless Rawal is brought back into the fold.
