Suniel Shetty Reacts To Paresh Rawal’s Exit From ‘Hera Pheri 3’: 'Even Akshay Is Clueless'

Suniel Shetty responds to Paresh Rawal’s shocking exit from Hera Pheri 3, reveals that even Akshay Kumar is unaware of the reason. The actor called it a “crisis” as fans express disappointment.

'Hera Pheri 3’ has been the talk of the town ever since the sequel to the cult comedy franchise was announced. However, the news of veteran actor Paresh Rawal stepping away from the project has left fans shocked and disheartened.

In a recent interaction with India Today, actor Suniel Shetty expressed his disbelief over Paresh Rawal's decision and revealed that even Akshay Kumar is unaware of the reasons behind the unexpected move.

“This is absolutely shocking. I first thought about texting him, and then I thought I’d meet him and discuss it. I haven’t spoken to anyone about it yet. Even Akshay is clueless as to what happened,” Suniel said.

He went on to call the development a crisis and disclosed that the team had already begun work on the film:

“We are in the middle of this film, and this is the biggest shock. We were supposed to start shooting next year — in fact, we had already begun. We even shot a promo. It’s a big deal. This is so shocking. I can’t make sense of it.”

Shetty also shared that his children, Athiya and Ahaan Shetty, were among the first to inform him:

“Athiya and Ahaan both sent it to me within 15 minutes, asking, ‘Papa, what is this?’ I was in the middle of interviews and thought, ‘Holy s***.’”

Paresh Rawal Responds to Exit Rumours

Following his confirmation that he has exited Hera Pheri 3, speculation arose suggesting the decision was due to creative differences or remuneration issues. However, Paresh Rawal addressed the rumours in an interview with Mid-Day:

“I know it came as a shock to many. We three make a great combination with Priyadarshanji directing us, but the fact is that I opted out because today I don’t feel like a part of it.”

The Legacy of Hera Pheri

The Hera Pheri franchise began with Priyadarshan’s 2000 classic, introducing the iconic trio — Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, and Suniel Shetty. Known for its slapstick humour, memorable dialogues, and relatable characters, the film quickly became a cult favourite. Its massive popularity led to the release of Phir Hera Pheri in 2006, which, while not as critically acclaimed, was a major box office success.

Since then, fans have been eagerly waiting for Hera Pheri 3. But the recent developments surrounding Paresh Rawal’s departure have cast a shadow over the much-anticipated project, with many fans urging the makers not to proceed without him.
