Now, Malaika has released an official statement after the unfortunate incident. Arbaaz Khan, Malaika's ex-husband, rushed to her parents' home to be with her and her family.

The official statement read: “We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our dear father, Anil Mehta. He was a gentle soul, a devoted grandfather, a loving husband, and our best friend. Our family is in deep shock by this loss, and we kindly request privacy from the media and well-wishers during this difficult time. We appreciate your understanding, support, and respect.”

Malaika Arora's father dies by suicide

Speaking to the reporters gathered outside Malaika's parents' home, the police stated, “Anil Arora used to live on the sixth floor. We are carrying out a detailed investigation from all angles… our forensic teams are here for investigation. His body is being sent for postmortem. We are investigating everything… prima facie it looks like suicide, we are conducting further investigation.”

In a viral clip, Malaika is seen rushing into the building. She reportedly came back to Mumbai from Pune after hearing of the devastating news. Malaika's ex-husband, actor-producer Arbaaz Khan, was also seen outside Anil Arora's house on Wednesday, speaking with police officers.

After the news came out, Malaika's friends were seen visiting the family, and videos of her former partner Arjun Kapoor and others surfaced on social media. Her ex-husband's family also rushed to be by her side. Her former in-laws, Salim and Salma Khan, as well as son Sohail Khan and daughter Alvira Agnihotri, were present at Malaika's parents' home.

Malaika Arora previously revealed that she was 11 years old when her parents separated. Malaika and her younger sister, Amrita Arora, who was just six years old at the time, relocated from Thane to Chembur. Anil Mehta was her step-father.
