Himesh Reshammiya recently appeared on Farah Khan’s vlog, where he opened up about his creative journey, sharing insights into his film Badass Ravikumar and memorable experiences with Bollywood superstars Aamir Khan and Salman Khan.

What led Himesh Reshammiya to make Badass Ravikumar

Reflecting on what led him to make Badass Ravikumar, Himesh explained, “The character comes from my childhood memories of Indian cinema. Even in my music albums, whenever I sing 90s songs, they resonate deeply with audiences. People still love retro vibes. The best line in the film was ‘logic optional,’ and the audience loved it. I enjoy films that serve as stressbusters and bring joy.”

Himesh also expressed his admiration for Aamir Khan, sharing how Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak played a pivotal role in shaping his career as a producer.

“I love Aamir Khan. In 1988, I attended the film’s trial, and many doubted its success. But I told my dad it would break records, and when it did, I gained his trust. That’s when he gave me money to produce a serial," he recalled.

Himesh's connection with Salman Khan

The conversation took an interesting turn as Himesh recounted his connection with Salman Khan. “We were almost set to sign Aamir for a film my father was producing, but it didn’t materialize. Instead, we approached Salman Khan. Though that film never took off, Salman remembered my music. He got me a song in Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya."

He continued, "It was tough to make a title track for a phrase already famous from Mughal-E-Azam, but it worked. That break changed everything for me—I would have been stuck in serials otherwise. I was a producer first, but Salman Bhai’s support pushed me into music."

Despite Badass Ravikumar underperforming at the box office, earning less than ₹10 crores, Himesh remains resilient, focusing on his passion for music and storytelling.
