Director Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri recently took to social media to share some shocking details about John Abraham and Bipasha Basu's song 'Billo Rani'.

New Delhi: While John Abraham and Bipasha Basu's 2007 sports thriller ‘Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal’ bombed at the movie office, the soundtrack, and the song 'Billo Rani' in particular, became an immediate smash and is still topping the charts. The connection that John and Bipasha displayed onscreen was a major draw for audiences. But director Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri reveals some unheard information, sharing the turmoil that occurred behind the scenes while the famous song was being made.

In a post on X (previously Twitter), Vivek Agnihotri detailed the interesting and, at times, disturbing obstacles encountered while filming ‘Billo Rani’. He claims that there were creative disagreements and that the producers were first reluctant to include the song in the film. Composer Pritam was hesitant to use the qawwali style and renowned lyricist Javed Akhtar had doubts about the song's hook as well. 

Adding, "This song has a history," Agnihotri reposted a snippet of the song on his Twitter account. He wrote, "This song has a history. Producers didn’t want it. Javed Saab was against the hook ‘Billo Rani,’ Pritam wasn’t sure about the qawwali style. John and Bipasha had a breakup just a couple of days before it, so there were lots of issues. But only the late Saroj Khan believed in me. She said this will become the biggest hit, and it did. Big salute to Pritam, Javed saab, and Saroj ji."
