Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar took to social media to extend heartfelt birthday wishes to his long-time mentor and legendary filmmaker Priyadarshan. The Hera Pheri actor, who has collaborated with Priyadarshan on several cult comedy films, expressed his admiration for the director, calling him a "master of turning chaos into a cinematic masterpiece."

Priyadarshan's birthday celebration on Bhooth Bangla sets

The birthday celebration took place on the sets of their upcoming horror-comedy Bhooth Bangla, where Akshay was joined by Priyadarshan, Paresh Rawal, and Rajpal Yadav.

Production banner Balaji Motion Pictures shared a behind-the-scenes image from the set, captioning it, “Happy Birthday to the legend who redefined entertainment, @priyadarshan.official! Akshay and Priyadarshan's collaboration

After a 14-year gap, Akshay and Priyadarshan are reuniting for Bhooth Bangla, which is slated for a theatrical release on April 2, 2026. The film, produced by Shobha Kapoor and Ektaa R Kapoor's Balaji Telefilms in collaboration with Akshay Kumar’s Cape of Good Films, also features Tabu, who recently joined the shoot in Jaipur. Akshay welcomed her with a warm hug as she came on board.

The duo has previously delivered several blockbuster comedies, including Hera Pheri, Bhagam Bhag, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, De Dana Dan, Garam Masala, and Khatta Meetha. With Bhooth Bangla, fans can expect another entertaining film filled with Priyadarshan’s signature humour and Akshay’s impeccable comic timing.
