Ranchi: Ranchi Tensions Persist as ABVP Workers Detained During Assembly March

The report focuses on continued tension in Ranchi following the alleged lathi-charge on students during a previous Assembly march. ABVP workers attempted another Assembly march in support of the students, but police denied permission and detained more than two dozen protesters, taking them away in buses. Some protesters continued to sit on the road and resisted the police action, leading to pushing and clashes. A few workers reportedly became unwell due to the intense heat. The protesters are demanding a CBI investigation into alleged irregularities in the JPSC and JSSC CGL examinations and want Chief Minister Hemant Soren to directly communicate with the protesting students. They also called for his resignation. Meanwhile, the BJP observed a Jharkhand bandh, with leaders and workers protesting at several locations, including burning tyres at Ratu Road Chowk. BJP state president Aditya Sahu accused the government of failing students and alleged that many students were injured or missing after the previous protest. He demanded a CBI probe and said the Chief Minister should resign if the investigation is not ordered.
