Alia Bhatt Begins Shooting For ‘RRR’; Actress Spotted With Director SS Rajamouli
Post lockdown, a 50-day long shooting schedule with action sequences was completed before Alia Bhatt joined the team for her role as ‘Sita’ in ‘RRR’.
New Delhi: ‘RRR’ has been making the headlines since its inception. This period action drama has been written and directed by ‘Baahubali’ director S.S. Rajamouli and stars N.T. Rama Rao Jr. (Jr NTR), Ram Charan, Alia Bhatt and Olivia Morris. It is a fictional take on the younger days of Indian freedom fighters Alluri Seetharamaraju and Komaram Bheem who fought against the British Raj and Nizam of Hyderabad respectively. This film will also star Ajay Devgn in a cameo role.

The shooting for ‘RRR’ had commenced long back. However, with the nationwide lockdown, the shooting of the film came to a halt. Post lockdown, a 50-day long shooting schedule with action sequences was completed before Alia Bhatt joined the team for her role as ‘Sita’ in ‘RRR’.
As the ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ actress joined the team of ‘RRR’ and commenced her shooting, the makers of the movie shared photos of Alia Bhatt and SS Rajamouli on social media. The caption read, “t #Sita, the supremely talented and beautiful @aliaabhatt on to the sets of #RRRMovie! #AliaBhatt #RRR”
When the director Rajamouli chose the 'Brahmastra' actress to play the female lead in the movie, he faced a lot of criticisms from the netizens for choosing a Bollywood actress. Recently, while interacting with SpotboyE, Rajamouli opened up on why he cast the ‘Highway’ actress in the female lead. The director was quoted saying by the portal, “I needed an actress who can stand her ground between Tarak(NTR Jr) and Charan(Ramcharan Teja) who are extremely talented actors. Alia is the perfect fit.”
‘RRR’ is set for release in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada on January 8, 2021, reportedly.
