Noida: School Sweeper Held For ‘Molesting’ 3-Year-Old Girl; Teacher, Security Supervisor Arrested Over ‘Cover-Up’
Noida News: A 3.5-year-old girl was allegedly molested by a school sweeper in Sector 27. The child's class teacher and security supervisor allegedly tried to cover up the incident.
Noida News: A 3.5-year-old student from the junior wing of a private school in Sector 27, Noida, was molested by a staffer of her school. The accused staffer Nithyanand, was working as a sweeper at the school, having been hired on a contract basis through an agency just a few days before the incident. Sector-20 police have arrested two more suspects in connection with the case: the child’s class teacher, Madhumenghani, and the school’s security supervisor, Dayamay Mahto. According to the police, both individuals attempted to conceal the crime.
The child began exhibiting signs of distress around ten days ago, refusing to attend school and remaining withdrawn. Concerned, her parents took her to a doctor, who revealed that she had suffered sexual abuse.
According to news agency PTI, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone I), Manish Kumar Mishra, stated that the child revealed to her mother that the accused had allegedly "done dirty things" with her. Mishra added that the investigation indicated Nityanand molested the girl at the school, which left her scared and initially unwilling to speak about the incident. Her parents eventually coaxed the details from her.

She also revealed that he had threatened her with harm if she told anyone about the incident. This act reportedly took place on 9 October within the school premises, and her family filed a complaint at the Sector-20 police station on 10 October. The police arrested Nityanand, a resident of Nithari village, on October 11.
The victim's father accused the school management of attempting to hide the incident and of intimidating the child when the complaint was lodged. The Noida Police Media Cell confirmed that during the investigation, evidence emerged indicating that Dayamay Mahto, the security supervisor, and Madhumenghani, the class teacher, had tried to cover up the incident.
Nityanand has been placed in judicial custody for 14 days, according to police, PTI reported. In a statement, the school management noted that the police reviewed CCTV footage from cameras installed on the premises but found no evidence related to the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
