‘Uddhav Thackeray Called Me Twice’: Narayan Rane’s Big Claim, Demands Aaditya’s Arrest In Disha Salian Case
BJP leader Narayan Rane alleges former Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray called him twice as he made remarks over Aaditya Thackeray's alleged link to Disha Salian's death case.

Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Lok Sabha MP Narayan Rane on Saturday claimed that former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray had twice urged him not to implicate his son Aaditya Thackeray in the Disha Salian death case. Addressing the media, Rane demanded the registration of a First Information Report (FIR) and the arrest of Aaditya.
"When he was chief minister, Uddhav Thackeray called me twice during the COVID pandemic and requested me not to drag his son into the Disha Salian case," Rane alleged, as quoted by news agency PTI. He further stated that he had never directly named anyone and had only referred to "a minister" during his press conference. "Register an FIR based on the evidence gathered so far and arrest him (Aaditya)," Rane said.

"Disha Salian's father had to go to the High Court because he has not received justice until now. Her father felt he would not receive justice from the police, so he went to the High Court. Uddhav Thackeray's PA, who is now probably an MLA, called me. I was also going home at that time, and he (PA) said that Uddhav Thackeray wanted to talk to me... He (PA) asked will you talk? I asked where he was (Uddhav Thackeray) and to give him the phone. As soon as he (Uddhav Thackeray) received the phone, I said Jai Maharahstra. He (Uddhav Thackeray) asked me if I still say Jai Maharashtra, so I replied I would keep saying Jai Maharashtra till I die. Jai Maharashtra is not Matoshri's property. It is Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's property," news agency ANI quoted Rane as saying.
Bombay HC To Hear Petition Of Disha Salian's Father For Fresh Probe Into Her Death
This comes as Disha Salian’s father, Satish Salian, has approached the Bombay High Court seeking a fresh probe into his daughter’s death in June 2020. He has also demanded an FIR against Aaditya Thackeray and the transfer of the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Rane has further alleged that late actor Sushant Singh Rajput was murdered.
The Bombay High Court has scheduled the hearing for Satish Salian’s writ petition on April 2. As per news agency ANI, a copy of the petition has also been served to Sameer Wankhede, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) director at the time. Advocate Faizan Merchant, representing Wankhede, stated that his client would file a detailed affidavit addressing all relevant points in court. Wankhede will be required to submit evidence from his investigation into the case.
‘If You Want To Turn Falsehoods Into Truth, It Will...’: Uddhav Thackeray Tells BJP On Disha Salian Case
Earlier this week, Uddhav Thackeray dismissed allegations, asserting that his son Aaditya had "no connection whatsoever" to the case. Aaditya Thackeray also refuted the claims, calling them an attempt to tarnish his reputation and stating that he would address them legally.
Uddhav lashed out at the BJP, accusing it of resorting to falsehoods for political gains. Speaking at Vidhan Bhavan, he criticised the ruling party for repeatedly bringing up the issue, calling it politically motivated.
"I was surprised that this (Salian) issue was not raised in the last 2-3 sessions. There is nothing new in it, as this issue has been raised repeatedly in the House in the past," he said, as quoted by PTI. "There is no substance in this issue. But if politics is being done in such a bad way, then it will hurt everyone. I want to tell these people that if you want to turn falsehoods into truth, then it will also boomerang on you."
