IPL 2025: As Kolkata Knight Riders gear up for their first match of IPL 2025 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, team co-owner and Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan delivered an inspiring message to the squad, urging them to stay "healthy and happy." 

Shah Rukh Khan reaches Kolkata

The 18th edition of the Indian Premier League is set to begin at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens, with KKR facing off against RCB under the looming threat of rain. Before the much-anticipated match, Shah Rukh landed in Kolkata to meet his team.

Videos circulating online captured his arrival at Kolkata airport, where he was greeted by a massive crowd despite heightened security. Dressed casually, the superstar acknowledged his fans with flying kisses before making his way to his car.

The franchise also shared a video on social media featuring SRK addressing the team, which is being led by new captain Ajinkya Rahane this season.

Shah Rukh Khan co-owns KKR alongside actress Juhi Chawla and her husband, Jay Mehta. 

Meanwhile, Rajat Patidar is set to lead the RCB squad, which boasts star player Virat Kohli. 

The much-anticipated match will commence at 7:30 PM, following the toss at 7 PM. Ahead of the game, a dazzling opening ceremony featuring performances by Shreya Ghoshal and Disha Patani is scheduled for 6 PM.
