Nagpur Violence: How Is The Current Situation Post Massive Violence? | ABP News
Following the violent clashes in central Nagpur on Monday (March 17), the city's Police Commissioner Ravindra Singhal led a route march on Tuesday (March 18) in the riot-affected areas. The march covered key locations, including Chitnis Park Chowk, Bhalsarpura Chowk, Agrasen Chowk, Seva Sadan Chowk, Geetanjali Talkies Chowk, and Hanspuri Road, where another incident of unrest was reported the previous night. Currently, a curfew is in place across these areas spanning a 3-kilometer radius. Commissioner Ravindra Singhal stated that the police are investigating how the violence started and what led to its sudden escalation. He emphasized that route marches are conducted to instill a sense of security among residents and to assess any potential threats of further violence. Speaking to the media, he said, “The primary objective of this march is to ensure that no conspiracy is being planned to reignite violence. It helps us maintain control over the area and reassure people that the police are committed to their safety.” The police are also examining whether social media was used to spread rumors and incite violence. Commissioner Singhal confirmed that the curfew will remain in effect and any relaxation will depend on the situation in the coming days.
