Signboard Of 'Akbar Road' In Lutyens' Delhi Defaced Over Vandalism Of Maharana Pratap Statue
The incident comes days after reports surfaced that signboards at Akbar Road and Humayun Road were defaced by a group of people who watched Vicky Kaushal-starrer Hindi movie 'Chhava'.

Unidentified men defaced the signboard at 'Akbar Road' in Lutyens' Delhi over claims that the statue of Maharana Pratap at Kashmere Gate ISBT was vandalised.
Visuals showed the miscreants applying black spray on the signboard and pasting the posters of Maharana Pratap over them.

The incident comes days after reports surfaced that signboards at Akbar Road and Humayun Road were defaced by a group of people who watched Vicky Kaushal-starrer Hindi movie 'Chhava', a period drama on Maratha warrior king Chhatrapati Sambhaji. Videos of the incident showed people blackening the signboards and pasting pictures of Maratha Empire founder Shivaji, PTI reported.

Following this February incident, police teams and civic offials were sent to the spot and the defaced signboards were cleaned. An investigation was strated to identify the culprits and the situation police monitored the situation to prevent further escalation.
"India will not tolerate the insult of Maharana Pratap. The police administration and the Delhi government are trying to suppress the incident that happened at ISBT Kashmiri Gate... Those who are guilty should be arrested, immediate action should be taken against them," one Amit Rathore told news agency ANI.
Another man, who was amongst those who defaced the signboard, said: "We are continuously removing signboards of invaders like Akbar, Babur and Humayun, and we are trying to make the government open its eyes and take a decision... the question is why are only we doing this, where are the other people of the society?
