Who Says India Doesn't Have Great Games? Here Are 45+ Homegrown Titles To Be Showcased At Indie Game Utsav
Indie Game Utsav's mission is simple: build a long-term culture of PC and console gaming while providing a global platform for Indian developers.

This strange reputation of India not having a great slate of indie games may not hold any longer, as Indie Game Utsav seems to be intent on shaking things (and old beliefs) up. Mumbai Comic Con 2025 is set to become the hub for the country’s rapidly growing indie gaming scene with the debut of Indie Game Utsav. This pioneering festival, dedicated to independent PC and console game developers, will showcase over 45 (yep, you read that right) top-tier made-in-India games at the Jio Convention Centre, Mumbai, on April 12 and April 13.
With 132 million players on Steam alone and PC gaming accounting for 22 per cent of India’s gaming revenue, this event aims to highlight the best of India’s gaming industry. Indie Game Utsav's mission is simple: build a long-term culture of PC and console gaming while providing a global platform for Indian developers.

Industry Leaders Backing Indie Revolution
Indie Game Utsav is spearheaded by Avichal Singh, Co-Founder and Game Director of Nodding Heads Games, the studio behind Raji: An Ancient Epic — one of India’s first major PC and console gaming successes.
“Indie Game Utsav wants to pave the way for upcoming quality indie games from India to find success just like Raji. We are aiming to resolve long-existing B2B and B2C problems for indies,” says Avichal Singh. “I’m grateful for Nodwin’s support to help us celebrate India’s best and brightest indie developers at Mumbai Comic Con.”
Akshat Rathee, Co-Founder of NODWIN Gaming, echoes this sentiment: “NODWIN started with two guys who just loved PC gaming, so supporting indie developers feels like coming full circle. We’ve always believed in the incredible talent of Indian indie game creators and that their work should be easily accessible to gamers. Indie Game Utsav at Comic Con is just the beginning — one of many steps toward making gaming more open and exciting for everyone.”
Opportunities for Indie Developers to Connect with Global Publishers
Indie Game Utsav will offer Indian developers a rare chance to network with international gaming giants. Attendees will have access to industry heavyweights such as Krafton, Garena, Epic Games, Xbox, Xsolla, and 1312 Interactive, among others. Additionally, digital matchmaking sessions will include Devolver Digital, RawFury, PluginDigital, Women in Games, BrightGambit, and more.
To gear up for Indie Game Utsav, a series of pre-event activities will help developers sharpen their skills and expand their networks:
- Rawfury X Indie Game Utsav (March 24-25, 2025): A two-day event featuring AMA sessions, pitch deck reviews, and game industry insights with Swedish indie publisher Rawfury.
- Epic Games for Indies (Date TBA): A Discord-based mentorship program by Epic Games, covering business development, marketing, and community engagement.
- MGN Indie Game Events (Throughout 2025): Selected Indian indie games will be showcased at China’s MGN Indie Game Events, providing exposure to Chinese publishers and audiences.
A New Era, & About Time
Supported by Specter, Xbox, and Xsolla, Indie Game Utsav is more than just an exhibition — it’s a movement to connect Indian indie developers with international publishers and gamers.
The initiative, in collaboration with Comic Con India, aims to foster a strong PC and console gaming culture in India while showcasing the country's most promising gaming talent.
