A Love Triangle, Month-Long Plan, And Murder On Cam: How UP Woman Killed Ex-Lover With Boyfriend's Help

The victim had recently gotten engaged but could not sever ties with his former girlfriend. To end this entanglement, the woman allegedly sought help from her new boyfriend and got her ex-lover killed.

A woman along with her new boyfriend allegedly killed her ex-lover in Uttar Pradesh's Varanasi on the night of Holi on March 14. The victim was allegedly shot dead in the Ausanganj area by his girlfriend's new boyfriend and the incident was caught on camera. Both the accused were arrested three days later.

Police investigation revealed that the victim, identified as Diljit, was engaged in decoration work for weddings and other events. He was standing outside his house while speaking to his former girlfriend when the incident took place at around 11 PM.

The woman had allegedly called her ex-lover to meet him on the night of Holi. She had promised to marry him, but the victim was unaware that she had no plans to do so and was instead hatching a murder plot to kill him with her new boyfriend Rajkumar's help.

What Happened On Holi Night?

When the victim was talking to the woman, a man on a bike, wearing a black helmet, approached him. CCTV footage showed the accused chasing the victim on a scooty, pointing a gun towards Diljit while chasing him on a bike. He later shot the victim in the chest, following which he was rushed to a nearby hospital. However, he was declared dead by doctors, India Today reported.

After around 50 minutes, Rajkumar was spotted with a bag on his bike parked behind a tempo. He later fled from the spot.

The accused was on the run for several days since the murder. A special team was formed by the police and the accused was identified using technical evidence and informers. The victim's girlfriend was questioned after which the accused was arrested, NDTV reported.

Victim Introduced Ex-Girlfriend To Her New Boyfriend

Diljit had recently gotten engaged but could not sever ties with his former girlfriend. In order to end this entanglement, the ex-girlfriend allegedly sought help from her new boyfriend, India Today reported citing sources.

Notably, it was the victim himself who had once introduced the accused to his former girlfriend. The trio shared a close acquaintance, but eventually their friendship turned into a rivalry after Rajkumar's involvement led to Diljit's breakup. However, the victim continued to pursue his ex and was unwilling to move on.

It was then that the woman and her new boyfriend allegedly began planning the murder a month in advance to remove Diljit from the picture. According to police, Rajkumar even showed the firearm to the woman over a video call before executing the murder, the report said.

Police authorities are now searching for the weapon used in the crime.
