The new Volskwagen product is a sedan expected to be named 'Virtus' — a Latin term for excellence.

New Delhi: Automobile manufacturer Volkswagen is set to reveal its new product for India in next month. The new Volskwagen product is a sedan expected to be named 'Virtus' — a Latin term for excellence. Let's take a look at the details of the car, date of unveiling and expected features in this new product by the Volkswagen.

Volswagen Virtus: Date Of Unveiling

Volkswagen will reveal its next product for India on the March 8. This is a sedan built on the same platform as its Taigun compact SUV. The MQB A0-IN platform will mean high localization levels along with competitive pricing. The Virtus will be similar to the upcoming Skoda Slavia in terms of its platform, engine options and details but like the Taigun/Kushaq, there would be big styling differences and feature differences along with a new design which will make them stand out from each other. The new sedan will replace the Vento while being much bigger than the car plus being more premium.

Volswagen Virtus: Expected Features and Specifications

The Virtus is expected to be launched in the months following its unveiling along with engine options similar to the Taigun. Hence, expect a 1.0l TSI engine to start the range with automatic or manual options while the 1.5 TSI will make it one of the most powerful cars in its class. The 1.5 TSI will come with a manual variant and a DSG. Like the Taigun, the sedan will also get a different GT variant for a sportier driving experience with the 1.5 TSI engine with a manual or a DSG automatic.

Styling wise we expect Volkswagen design but in a new avatar with sleek lines along with a minimal clean look like other Volkswagen cars. The sedan will also have a long wheelbase which will mean more space. The new Volkswagen sedan will join the Taigun along with competing with the Skoda Slavia of course plus the Honda City, Hyundai Verna also.
