New Toyota And Maruti Creta Rival To Get Strong Hybrid With 20 Kmpl Plus Expected Mileage

We expect the Toyota version to be launched earlier unlike usual tradition where the Maruti version comes first. The styling would also be completely different like the Kushaq/Taigun with a different look.

New Delhi: We just saw the launch of the new Honda City Hybrid but the recent rise in fuel prices means that more such cars are coming soon. One of the biggest new launches in the future would be the two new SUVs from Toyota and Maruti. This is the first product being developed together by Toyota and Maruti while till now Toyota has been selling Maruti cars with minimal changes. Being a new SUV jointly developed by the two car-makers, the production would be in Bangalore at the Toyota plant.

The significance of these two SUVs are quite high being aimed at the popular duo of the Hyundai Creta and the Kia Seltos. Both the new SUVs would be above 4m and roughly the size of the Creta or Seltos. We expect the Toyota version to be launched earlier unlike usual tradition where the Maruti version comes first. The styling would also be completely different like the Kushaq/Taigun with a different look. The Maruti and Toyota compact SUV would be styled according to their company design DNA.

New Toyota And Maruti Creta Rival To Get Strong Hybrid With 20 Kmpl Plus Expected Mileage

We expect 17-inch wheels and LED headlamps plus more while the grille design/front bumper or even the rear bumper/tail-lamp design to be different.

The interiors would be more similar but feature wise they would be aiming to be as feature rich as possible. Hence, expect a 9-inch touchscreen, sunroof, cooled seats, a heads-up display, a 360-degree view camera plus a premium audio system. There could also be ADAS features on offer with both the two SUVs. The best part is what we will discuss now as both the new SUVs would be strong hybrids. Yes, the Toyota and the Maruti SUV will get a strong hybrid system like the Camry Hybrid which is not a surprise since

Toyota is famous for its hybrid powertrains. The engine would be the 1.5l while an electric motor would increase the power along with a small battery pack. This is a self charging battery pack like any hybrid along three modes including an EV only mode plus hybrid mode. That means expect high fuel efficiency with the number being more than 20kmpl at least- hence it will be both the SUVs the most efficient in their segment.

We expect the reveal to be in July while launch to be closer to the festive season while there would also be an entry level variant with a smart hybrid 1.5l option.
