Kia Syros Safety Rating: How It Gets 5 Stars

The Kia Syros earns a 5-star rating in BNCAP crash tests, becoming the first Kia model to do so in India. It offers adult and child occupant protection, with 16 autonomous and 20 standard safety features.

The new Kia Syros has achieved a perfect 5-star rating in the latest Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (BNCAP) crash tests, scoring the highest in both adult and child occupant protection categories.

In the adult occupant protection test, the Syros secured 30.21 out of 32 points, while it scored 44.42 out of 49 in the child occupant protection category. According to BNCAP, the Syros provided “good” levels of protection overall.

The SUV is equipped with six airbags, three-point seatbelts with reminders for all passengers, electronic stability control (ESC), ISOFIX child seat mounts, and more. In total, the Syros features 16 autonomous safety technologies and 20 standard safety features.

Syros Is First Kia Model In India To Receive 5-Star BNCAP Safety Rating

Notably, the Syros is the first Kia model in India to receive a 5-star BNCAP safety rating. It joins other 5-star-rated SUVs in the segment such as the Mahindra XUV 3XO, Skoda Kushaq, and Tata Nexon. The high safety rating is expected to bolster the appeal of the Syros, especially as consumer awareness around vehicle safety continues to grow.

Prices for the Syros start at ₹9 lakh, with the top-end variant priced at ₹16.8 lakh (ex-showroom). The SUV also boasts a long list of premium features, including dual 12.3-inch displays, ventilated front seats, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), an electronic parking brake, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ambient lighting, and reclining second-row seats.

The Syros is offered with two powertrain options — a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine — both available with manual and automatic transmissions.
