Jaipur School Visit: CJP Worker Alleges Assault by BJP-RSS Supporters, Claims Injury
A CJP worker has alleged that she was assaulted during the team’s visit to a school in rural Jaipur. According to her account, the team had arrived to inspect the school and raise concerns about its condition. She said that a year earlier, members of the organisation had visited the area after reports that a school was allegedly being run in a buffalo shed, and the latest visit was intended to follow up on efforts to improve the situation. The woman alleged that BJP and RSS supporters were already present at the location before the CJP team arrived. She claimed that the group attacked the workers using sticks, pushed them to the ground and threw stones. She also alleged that she was pushed and hit with sticks, resulting in injuries to her hand and another part of her body. Describing the incident, she said she was experiencing significant pain following the alleged assault. She questioned why the protesters were opposing the team’s visit, saying that the CJP workers had come with the stated objective of examining school conditions and working for the future of students. The allegations come amid the ongoing confrontation between CJP workers and people gathered at the school site. The CJP has alleged that BJP supporters were involved in the violence, while the exact circumstances and responsibility for the incident remain subject to investigation. The incident has intensified the political dispute surrounding school visits, photography and videography in Rajasthan, with CJP maintaining that it is highlighting the condition of government schools and seeking improvements for students.
