Jaipur Clash: CJP Workers Attacked, Vehicles Vandalised During School Visit
A violent clash has been reported in Jaipur’s rural area after CJP workers arrived to visit a school as part of their campaign highlighting alleged poor conditions in Rajasthan’s government schools. According to the CJP, BJP supporters were already present at the location and opposed the team’s entry into the school. The incident reportedly took place in the Bhag Karotha area, around 45–50 kilometres from Jaipur city. The CJP team was scheduled to arrive at around 8 a.m. but reached the location at approximately 9:30 a.m. Soon after their arrival, slogans were raised and a confrontation reportedly broke out between CJP workers and people gathered at the spot. Visuals show damaged vehicles, including broken window glass, while CJP workers were allegedly pushed back from the area. Some CJP workers reportedly sustained injuries. The CJP has also alleged that its female workers were subjected to misbehaviour during the confrontation. CJP spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka had reportedly expressed concern before reaching the school, saying the team had received information that BJP supporters were gathered there and that an untoward incident could occur. The CJP has alleged that the warning was followed by an actual confrontation. Police reached the location and are attempting to bring the situation under control. No formal arrests had reportedly been made at the time of the report. Police are expected to take further action after receiving written complaints and conducting an investigation. The dispute is linked to a Rajasthan government order restricting photography and videography inside schools. CJP maintains that it wants to document the condition of schools, while the confrontation has now raised questions over law and order and political tensions surrounding the issue.
