Jaipur Clash: CJP Workers Face Protest and Vehicle Damage During School Visit
A clash has reportedly taken place in Jaipur between CJP workers and local villagers during a planned visit to government schools. According to the report, protesters allegedly surrounded and opposed the CJP team, while some vehicles were reportedly damaged during the confrontation. Visuals from the spot show people targeting vehicles as the CJP workers attempted to leave the area. The incident is linked to a recent Rajasthan government directive concerning entry into schools and restrictions on photography and videography. Opposition groups have objected to the order, while the CJP had announced a programme to visit schools and highlight alleged problems and poor conditions in educational institutions. According to the report, BJP supporters and local residents had gathered outside the first school before the CJP team arrived. As the workers got out of their vehicles and attempted to move towards the school, slogans were raised against them and a confrontation reportedly followed. CJP spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka has alleged that BJP supporters were responsible for the physical assault. Police subsequently reached the spot and attempted to bring the situation under control. Questions have also been raised over the administration’s preparedness, as authorities were reportedly aware of the planned visit. The CJP team had planned to visit two schools, with the second location reportedly more than 20 kilometres away. It remains to be seen whether the team will continue with its programme. Police action will also depend on the complaints and statements submitted by the parties involved.
