Breaking News: Cloudburst Disrupts Manali-Leh National Highway, Vehicles Diverted via Atal Tunnel
Due to a cloudburst on the Manali-Leh National Highway (NH-003) from Dhundi to Palchan, all types of vehicles are being diverted through the Atal Tunnel via Rohtang to Manali. The highway is currently closed for all vehicles. Authorities have issued a warning to the public, advising them to use alternative routes and travel only if necessary. Significant damage was caused late last night due to a cloudburst in Manali, Himachal Pradesh. The cloudburst occurred near Anjani Mahadev, adjacent to Solang Nala, leading to flooding in Palchan. Debris on the Palchan bridge has caused the closure of the Manali-Leh route. Reports indicate that a house in Palchan has collapsed due to the flood. Additionally, a power project built on the river has also suffered damage. Residents along the riverbank have been alerted, and substantial damage has been reported so far. According to the weather department, Himachal Pradesh may experience light rain on Thursday and Friday. A yellow alert for rain has been issued from July 27 to July 30. On Wednesday, July 25, light clouds are expected in Shimla and several other regions. On Wednesday morning, at 7:00 AM, the water level in the stream near Chau on the Chamba-Talera road increased, causing a halt in vehicle movement and resulting in a one-and-a-half-hour traffic jam.
