Who Is Abhinav Chandrachud? Former CJI's Son Representing Ranveer Allahbadia In Offensive Remarks Case

The Supreme Court on Tuesday granted interim protection from arrest to Youtuber and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia over his comments on the 'India's Got Latent' show while calling it vulgar and saying he had a dirty mind which put society to shame.
Several FIRs have been lodged against Allahbadia, popularly known as BeerBiceps, for his comment on parents and sex on comic Samay Raina's YouTube show.
Ranveer Allahbadia was represented in the Supreme Court by Abhinav Chandrachud, who is the son of former Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud.
Abhinav Chandrachud said he was "personally disgusted" by the obscene remark on 'India's Got Latent' show, but added that "whether it rises to the level of criminal offence is another question”.
Chandrachud argued that his client was facing threats, including an acid attack threat against a co-accused.

- Abhinav Chandrachud has worked as an associate attorney at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, a global law firm.
- He has also taught as a Guest Lecturer in the Government Law College, Mumbai; K.C. Law College, Mumbai and Judicial Academy, Uttan.
