6 Women Candidates In BJP's List For Upcoming Haryana Municipal Elections

In the upcoming Haryana mayoral elections, the BJP has announced names of the candidates. The candidates were selected after consultations with the party's national president and state unit.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday released the list of its candidates for the mayor elections to be held in Haryana. The BJP has fielded candidates for Faridabad, Hisar, Karnal, Panipat, Rohtak, Yamunanagar, Sonipat, Ambala and Gurugram.

After consultation with BJP national president JP Nadda, the BJP's state unit has given its approval for the names of nine candidates. These names are Praveen Joshi, Praveen Popli, Renubala Gupta, Komal Saini, Ramavatar Valmiki, Suman Bahamani, Rajiv Jain, Selja Sachdeva and Usha Priyadarshi.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the official account of BJP Haryana shared the names of the candidates.

Praveen Joshi is given ticket from Faridabad, and she is the Chairman of Haryana Child Welfare Commission. Praveen Popli, who is the state co-convenor of Namo App, has been fielded from Hisar. Renubala Gupta, who is the state convenor of Art and Culture Cell, has been given ticket from Karnal. Komal Saini, who is the state secretary of OBC Morcha, is the candidate from Panipat. National vice president of SC Morcha Ramavtar Valmiki has been given ticket from Rohtak.

Suman Bahamani, member of the state executive of SC Morcha, has been fielded from Yamunanagar. Rajiv Jain has been made the candidate from Sonipat. Member of the state executive of Mahila Morcha, Selja Sachdeva, has been given ticket from Ambala, while women member of the state executive, Rajrani Malhotra has been fielded from Gurugram.

On the other hand, Congress has also made preparations for the civic elections. Sirsa MP Kumari Selja said that Congress will fight on its symbol and good candidates will be fielded. Selja also said that their party workers will work hard and make the party win. "We hope that the public will give Congress an opportunity to serve", she said.

The first phase of elections will be held on March 2 and the second phase on March 9, 2025. The results will be declared on March 12.
