'It Is Important, Home-grown Indian Superheroes Should Be Made' Says Filmmaker Farah Khan | ABP News
Filmmaker Farah Khan says it is important to make home-grown superheroes for kids at the trailer launch event of live action film "Chhota Bheem and The Curse of Damyaan". Helmed by Rajiv Chilaka, the film is based on popular Indian cartoon character “Chhota Bheem” along with his sena who will try to rescue Dholakpur from super villain Damyaan in the film. "It is important for home-grown Indian superheroes to be made, otherwise we are taking them only to watch English Films like Avengers, Harry Potter. There are not too many superheroes (Indian), this is the first live action Chhota Bheem film which you guys have made. I think it is commendable as our budgets are not as high foreign films but we have a lot of masalas. I think the kids are going to enjoy it." says Farah Khan. Chilaka revealed the successful series was not immediately approved and it took him five years to sell the idea. Echoing the thoughts of Khan, Chilaka also insisted on the need of Indian childhood heroes.
