Video Of Elephant Chewing Plastic Goes Viral, IAS Officer Says 'Tragedy Beyond Measure'
In the clip one can see the elephant pick up a plastic bag with its trunk and wave it for a while before putting it in its mouth.
Single use plastics are a great threat to the environment and also prove hazardous for the wildlife around us if disposed off carelessly. And though governments across the world are imposing strict ban on use of such plastics to cut down the damage, not much success has been achieved so far.
How single use plastics have become a huge menace for the environment was evident from a video shared by an IAS officer Supriya Sahu on the internet that has gone viral.
The clip shared on the micro-blogging site Twitter with the caption "When humans become slaves of throwaway plastic the price is paid by wild animals. Its a tragedy beyond measure", shows an elephant chewing a plastic bag.
