YouTube Is Experimenting With Dislike Button On Shorts, Replaces It With Save Button
If you find yourself impacted by this change and wish to dislike Shorts, you can do so by tapping the three-dot menu located in the upper right corner of the screen.
YouTube keeps on experimenting and trying out new features with the aim of enhancing the overall user experience. Upon trying them out, the video streaming giant then decides whether to roll that particular feature out to the wider public or not. YouTube is now testing a new Shorts interface that replaces the 'Dislike' button with the 'Save' button. As per a report by the Android Authority, the users who are a part of this experiment by YouTube won't be seeing the 'Dislike' button rather they will see the 'Save' button in its place.
In contrast to the experimental features of YouTube Premium that necessitate user opt-in, this update is being implemented randomly among users. If you find yourself impacted by this change and wish to dislike Shorts, you can do so by tapping the three-dot menu located in the upper right corner of the screen. To save YouTube Shorts, simply click the Save button that appears either below the like button or within the three-dot menu. YouTube will then prompt you to choose whether to save it to an existing playlist or create a new one.

Will It Be Beneficial At All?
While this update simplifies the process of saving Shorts, many users are likely to continue scrolling to the next video without taking the time to dislike it. This change could be a positive development for content creators, but it also means that lower-quality Shorts may end up appearing more prominently in your feed.
That said, the user interface update for YouTube Shorts is still in the testing phase, so it remains uncertain whether Google will implement this change for all users or revert it entirely.
In other recent news, the platform announced that creators will now have the ability to make Shorts with a duration of up to three minutes. Additionally, YouTube is experimenting with hiding the "Skip" button on ads for some users by covering it with a black rectangle as part of a broader UI update.
