WhatsApp Rolls Out New Events Feature: You Can Now Create & Edit Events Within Groups

This feature of WhatsApp is currently being rolled out gradually and will soon be accessible to all users worldwide.

WhatsApp has started rolling out the Events feature in WhatsApp groups. According to reports, you will now be able to plan events, discuss schedule details, and confirm RSVP status with other members in your WhatsApp contacts. This feature was initially only available in WhatsApp communities, however, now it has been extended to regular WhatsApp Groups.

As per WhatsApp's official blog, the Events feature in WhatsApp will let a user create an interactive message, akin to a calendar invite. You will now also be able to mention details such as date, time and location in it. The remaining members of the group can respond to the message to confirm that they will be attending it.

Furthermore, the replies that other users give will only be visible inside the interactive message. This in a way makes it easier for all members to track the responses. The arrival of this new feature has gotten us rid of manually searching the entire chat for an individual's reply. The event's announcement can also be pinned within the chat, as detailed on WhatsApp's official website.
