Cornflakes? Prasad? Ukulele? Uber's List Of 'Lost & Found' Items Will Make You Laugh Out Loud

Uber has cited Delhi as being the 'most forgetful city' in India. Mumbai, Bengaluru also on the index.

Uber has unveiled its annual ‘lost and found’ index for India, spotlighting Delhi as the leading ‘most forgetful city’ in India, where passengers frequently leave their belongings behind in cabs. The study, conducted in 2024, also ranked Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Pune among the top forgetful cities. The index revealed intriguing insights, showcasing the top five ‘most unique lost items’, notably including the ukulele instrument.

Saturdays The Most 'Forgetful' Day

As per Uber India's official records, Saturdays witnessed the highest instances of forgetfulness, with mobile phones emerging as the most commonly misplaced item, trailed by laptop bags, clothing, keys, headphones, wallets, spectacles/sunglasses, water bottles, jewellery, and watches.

iPhones The Biggest Victims

In a curious revelation, Apple device users were identified as the ‘most forgetful’ in 2023, with Samsung and Redmi phones also being frequently left behind in Uber cabs.

The data from the ‘lost and found’ index outlined November 10, 9, and 11 as the peak forgetful days of the year, with 7 pm, 8 pm, and 6 pm marking the most forgetful times of the day for Indian commuters.

Furthermore, the survey highlighted blue, red, and pink as the top three colours of forgotten items.

Cornflakes And Prasad Too

Aside from the ukulele, the index included peculiar items like coin collections, gate valves, cornflakes, and prasad (temple offerings) among the unique lost possessions.

Uber's global lost and found index for 2024, as reported on its official website, indicated that clothing, luggage, headphones, and wallets were the most frequently forgotten items worldwide over the past year. Miami emerged as the most forgetful city globally, with the colour red being the most commonly misplaced.

Additionally, 9 pm and 10 pm were identified as the peak hours for reporting lost items, with January 21 standing out as the most forgetful day internationally.
