Want To Get Your Twitter Blue Tick Back Briefly For Free? Try This Hack

Your blue tick will magically reappear for a brief few seconds only, but it's still a fun trick to try!

On April 20, Elon Musk’s Twitter removed all blue ticks from non-paying users as part of the microblogging platform’s updated Twitter Blue policies. However, there is a sly trick you can try if you wish to get back your blue badge without having to pay anything. Note that if you go ahead with this, you will get back your blue tick from a very brief period, but it still gives you a chance to pull a prank on your blue tick-thirsty friends.

How To Get Your Blue Tick Back On Twitter, Briefly

Follow these steps:

  • Go to Twitter on either Web or the app and log in to your account.
  • Click on the Edit profile option from your main home feed. (You can access this quickly by clicking on your profile picture, both on app or the Web client)
  • Make some changes to your Bio. This can be a simple addition like a comma or a period, or a proper update to your overall description.
  • Once you make your changes, click on Save.
  • Et voilà! Your blue tick will magically reappear beside your profile name, like earlier.

Do note that the blue tick will go away again when you refresh the app/browser window. It’s just a simple hack, probably caused due to some overlooked bug. Still, this could give you a chance to show off your “free” blue tick to your friends.

On April 20, Twitter started removing ‘legacy’ blue ticks from users who are yet to pay for Twitter Blue plans. CEO Musk on April 12 tweeted that all the users who are yet to pay up will lose their verified blue badges starting on the aforementioned date.

Twitter Blue is currently available worldwide at $7 a month if they sign up via a Web browser. If you are using Twitter on iOS or Android, you will have to pay $11 via in-app payment.

In India, Twitter Blue is priced at Rs 900 per month on iOS and Android, and Rs 650 on the Web client. Twitter offers a discounted yearly plan of Rs 6,500, which boils down to around Rs 566 per month.

You also stand a chance to regain your blue tick, if you have over a million followers, and were already a holder of a blue badge from earlier.
