It was presented last week in the parliament by Union Communications, Electronics, and Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. However, this bill faced strong opposition from Opposition leaders who contended that it infringes upon the fundamental right to privacy.

iPhone 15 Series May Launch Next Month

The iPhone 15 lineup could be launched next month, carrying forward Apple's tradition to launch a new iPhone line in September. The launch of the iPhone 15 series is said to be held on either September 12 or September 13 and the tech giant may unveil four new iPhone models this year. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, as spotted by MacRumors, the iPhone 15 series launch would take place on either of the days. The iPhone 15 series would become available for purchase a week later, on September 22.

Domestic handset maker Lava International has appointed Rishi Mohan Bhatnagar as its new president, says his LinkedIn post. Bhatnagar is the former president of Aeris Communications. Bhatnagar, however, took the LinkedIn post down where he wrote about joining the company as a president. His LinkedIn bio still says that he is the president of Lava International Limited.

Iraq Bans Telegram, Citing National Security Concerns

Iraq has blocked Pavel Durov's Telegram, citing national security concerns. According to the country's telecoms ministry, it has blocked the Telegram messaging app, citing concerns over national security and to also preserve the integrity of users' personal data, which it said the Telegram app had mishandled, said a report by news agency Reuters. Apart from being a popular messaging platform in the country, Telegram is widely used to circulate news and other content.

Honor's First Foldable, Magic V2 Set To Launch Next Month

Handset maker Honor is set to enter the foldables smartphone category next month, the media has reported. The phone would be called the Honor Magic V2 and it is likely to be unveiled globally on September 1. The device has already been launched on the company's home turf in China. The Honor Magic V2 would be unveiled at 10 am CEST at IFA 2023 in Berlin. The foldable comes with a top-tier Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. This comes days after Samsung launched its fifth-gen foldable, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5.
