iPhone 15 Series May Launch Next Month. Here Is The Expected Date And More Details

The iPhone 15 lineup could be launched next month, carrying forward Apple's tradition to launch a new iPhone line in September.

The iPhone 15 lineup could be launched next month, carrying forward Apple's tradition to launch a new iPhone line in September. The launch of the iPhone 15 series is said to be held on either September 12 or September 13 and the tech giant may unveil four new iPhone models this year. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, as spotted by MacRumors, the iPhone 15 series launch would take place on either of the days. The iPhone 15 series would become available for purchase a week later, on September 22.

Apple is likely to stick to its usual practice and send out media invitations for the event almost a week before the launch event date.

A last weeks's report by 9to5Mac said that several mobile network partners have asked their employees to not take an off on Wednesday, September 13, in anticipation of a "major smartphone announcement". There is no clarity on why carrier employee off days have been blocked on an event day. It should be noted that pre-order and launch days are their busiest times.

There were reports that the Apple iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max models may be delayed due to a "severe crunch" in the wake of production woes with displays. A recent report in The Information said, citing two sources having direct knowledge of the problem, that the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max models could face severe supply shortages in September as Apple is making changes to the display. However, another report clarified that the panels for the iPhone 15 Pro models are no longer in shortage as South Korean major LG Display has resolved the display woes which indicates that the iPhone 15 Pro line would not get delayed this year.

Cupertino-based Apple is mulling to significantly reduce the size of the bezels around the display this year and that has caused production woes. According to a report by Korean publication The Elec, the tech giant is working towards introducing a "bezel-less" display and it has asked its display partners Samsung and LG Display to make flat OLED screens with no bezels.

Apple's display partners would be required to upgrade the thin film encapsulation (TFE) and under-panel camera (UPC) technologies to make bezel-less panels. Earlier, South Korean tech giant Samsung was the exclusive supplier of iPhone displays, but last year LG split the orders of displays with it for the iPhone 14 Pro models.
