Sony WH-1000XM6 Leak Spills All: From Price To Colour Options, All You Need To Know

Sony appears to be targeting a May 16 shipping date, aligning with a leaked Amazon Spain listing.

Sony's much-anticipated WH-1000XM6 headphones have quietly surfaced ahead of schedule, thanks to a fleeting appearance on the company’s regional websites. The unintentional listing not only showcased official images but also revealed pricing, colour variants, and a shipping timeline, offering a sneak peek into what could be Sony’s most feature-rich ANC headphones yet.

New Colours, Higher Price Tag

According to information spotted by The Walkman Blog, the WH-1000XM6 will be available in three finishes: Black, Platinum Silver, and an all-new Midnight Blue. The headphones are priced at €449 in the Eurozone and £399 in the UK — a noticeable jump from the WH-1000XM5’s €419 launch price. Indian buyers can expect a cost of around Rs 45,000, while a US price remains unconfirmed. With no listing yet in North America, Sony might be reserving this release for European and UK markets, at least for now.

Foldable Form Meets Familiar Features

The WH-1000XM6 continues Sony’s trend of refining its flagship ANC lineup. The headphones are expected to offer a foldable design — something fans of the series have long requested. Internally, the XM6 is powered by Sony’s QN3 noise-cancelling chip, backed by 12 microphones and 30mm audio drivers. Battery life remains consistent with the previous model, promising up to 30 hours on a full charge, alongside support for 360 Reality Audio.

Early enthusiasts have also lauded the changes. One X user noted, “The magnetic case and wider headband are such a win.” However, not everyone is sold on the higher pricing. Despite speculated features like Hi-Res audio support, LDAC, and a new Game EQ mode, some potential buyers question whether the upgrades warrant a 12% price increase.

Shipping Begins May 16 — But Not Everywhere

Sony WH-1000XM6 Leak Spills All: From Price To Colour Options, All You Need To Know

Sony appears to be targeting a May 16 shipping date, aligning with a leaked Amazon Spain listing, as reported by Gizmochina. The timing also coincides with the company’s upcoming "Chapter 6" event, which may serve as the official launch. Curiously, while listings appeared in Europe and the UK, North American markets have been left in the dark, further fueling speculation that Sony might delay or skip a US launch, at least initially.

With the WH-1000XM5 still retailing around $291.50 on Amazon, the XM6 has big shoes to fill. Whether its new design and incremental improvements are enough to justify the price hike remains to be seen. For now, fans will have to wait for Sony’s formal announcement to see if the XM6 lives up to the mounting hype — or ends up being a premium misstep.
