This advancement is said to enable a more compact camera module, aligning seamlessly with the device’s thinner design.

The innovation in question is ALoP (All Lenses on Prism), a breakthrough technology announced by Samsung, designed to maintain a sleek camera module without compromising image quality.

ALoP technology redefines telephoto cameras in smartphones by allowing larger lenses to be integrated without increasing the thickness of the camera bump. Traditional folded optics arrange large-diameter lenses vertically, which limits design options and results in thicker modules to enhance image brightness. ALoP, on the other hand, aligns these lenses horizontally along the prism, parallel to the phone’s body.

This strategic positioning enables a larger effective pupil diameter (EPD), ensuring brighter and sharper images without adding bulk. It also optimizes lens placement to reduce the overall length of the module, delivering a compact design with superior optical performance. By utilizing ALoP, Samsung is expected to offer a telephoto lens in the Galaxy S25 Slim while keeping its form factor sleek and modern, further enhancing its camera capabilities.
