'India Is 2nd Largest Mobile Producer': Modi 3.0 Govt Lists Top Tech & Science Achievements In First 100 Days

Let us go over some of the top achievements that the Modi 3.0 government has made in the tech and science sectors since it formed the government.

The Narendra Modi government has completed 100 days since it came to power for a third consecutive term on June 9, 2024. The government claims to have taken some notable steps in the direction of enhancing India's footing in the science and technology sectors. Among other achievements, the government said in its 100-day report card, the country has now become the second largest mobile producer with the establishment of indigenous semiconductor facilities. 

A new semiconductor unit with a production capacity of around 6 million chips per day will soon be set up in Gujarat.

Let us go over some of the top achievements that the Modi 3.0 government has made in the tech and science sectors.

Modi 3.0 100 Days: Notable Achievements In Tech & Science

One of the biggest achievements, as mentioned above, is that India has now become the world's second largest mobile producer with the establishment of indigenous semiconductor facilities. 

A new semiconductor unit will soon be established in Sanand, Gujarat. Around Rs 3,300 crores will be invested in this and it will have a production capacity of around 6 million chips per day. 

In an effort to make India better prepared for natural disasters, a national database has been created and for the purpose of maintaining rural land records, the Bhuvan Panchayat portal has been established by the government.

If we talk about science and space, then the first National Space Day was celebrated on August 23 to honour the success of Chandrayaan and Mangalyaan. A Rs 1,000 crore venture capital fund scheme has been established to strengthen space startups. 

A National Research Fund of Rs 50,000 crore has been set up. The Vigyan Dhara scheme has also been established with a budget of Rs 10,500 crore. 

Apart from all this, back on August 16, the successful launch of the EOS-08 satellite on SSLV-D3 took place.
