Lenovo Thinkbook Flip Has An Entire Extra Screen That Can Fold Outwards: Here's How It Works

Lenovo ThinkBook ‘Flip’ aims to transform professional workflows with its flexible form factor and intelligent computing capabilities.

Lenovo has taken the stage at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 to introduce its latest lineup of AI-powered business devices. The company’s showcase includes next-generation ThinkPad and ThinkBook laptops, expanded software solutions, and ThinkShield security advancements. Among the most striking innovations is the ThinkBook “codename Flip” AI PC Concept, a proof-of-concept device designed to revolutionise business computing with its adaptive AI-driven features.

Fold Outwards

Positioned as a leap forward in AI-powered workstations, the ThinkBook ‘Flip’ aims to transform professional workflows with its flexible form factor and intelligent computing capabilities.

This concept device boasts an 18.1-inch outward folding OLED display that can seamlessly transition between a compact 13-inch laptop and an extended vertical workspace. By doing so, it offers enhanced productivity, multitasking capabilities, and AI-assisted collaboration for hybrid professionals.

Five Operational Modes

One of the standout features of the ThinkBook ‘Flip’ is its ability to shift between five distinct operational modes. Clamshell Mode functions as a traditional laptop, while Vertical Mode optimises screen space for reviewing documents.

Share Mode allows for dual-display collaboration, Tablet Mode caters to creative professionals, and Read Mode offers a distraction-free reading experience. This versatility aims to address the dynamic needs of modern business users.

AI-Powered Split Screen

Further boosting productivity, the device integrates an AI-powered Workspace Split Screen function, allowing users to run multiple applications simultaneously without requiring an external monitor. Under the hood, the ThinkBook ‘Flip’ is equipped with an Intel Core Ultra 7 processor, 32GB LPDDR5X memory, and PCIe SSD storage, ensuring smooth performance for AI-intensive tasks.

The inclusion of a Smart ForcePad introduces a 3-layer illuminated dashboard with numeric keys and media controls, enhancing user interaction. Business security and connectivity are also a priority, with Thunderbolt 4 ports and a fingerprint reader providing seamless access and data protection.

Lenovo At MWC 2025

While Lenovo’s ThinkBook ‘Flip’ remains a conceptual innovation, the company continues to roll out AI-driven solutions for immediate business applications. The latest ThinkPad and ThinkBook AI PCs incorporate advanced AI acceleration, enterprise-grade security, and enhanced IT management capabilities. Select ThinkPad models also feature Copilot+ functionality, powered by Intel Core Ultra 200V or AMD Ryzen AI 300 Series processors.

Lenovo states that these devices are up to five times faster than widely used five-year-old Windows PCs, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to cutting-edge, secure, and intelligent computing solutions for businesses today and in the future.
