"Spam attacks have picked up so we're going to have to get tighter on things like rate limits, which is going to mean more unintentionally limiting active people ( false positives). If you get caught up those protections let us know," Mosseri wrote.

This development comes amid reports of a decline in user engagement on Threads, the new social media platform by Meta. threads had reported a record 100 million sign-ups in just five days of being announced. As per a report by CNBC, data from Sensor Tower and Similarweb indicates a decrease in daily active users and time spent on the platform.

Instagram Threads is also said to introduce an edit button, which is currently missing, and other features such as Twitter-like hashtags and a trending page, among others. According to Mosseri, Instagram head, these upcoming features are confirmed to arrive on Threads. It should be noted that hashtag is how a topic trends on Twitter and this is missing on Instagram Threads as of now. Meta's other suite of apps like Instagram and Facebook have supported hashtags for many years.
