What Does These Features Do?

The new speedometer appears in the bottom left corner of the screen while navigating. It displays the vehicle's speed, which might seem like a routine feature on its own, but its real utility lies in showing the speed limits of the area you're driving through.

Google Maps now also indicates the road's speed limit. This feature is particularly useful as it helps remind users to stay within the permitted speed limit, helping them avoid speeding tickets, which have become increasingly common in the Delhi-NCR region.

Additionally, the speedometer changes colour when users are speeding. For example, if a driver exceeds the allowable speed limit, the indicator turns bright red.

How To Activate These Features

Activating these features is quite straightforward. With the latest version of Google Maps installed, users simply need to tap on their profile picture, then go to Settings > Navigation > Map display.

In this section, you will find toggles for "Show speed limits" and "Show speedometer." Users can turn these features on or off according to their preferences.
