Purohit will spearhead the company's strategic relationship with the country's leading brands and agencies to drive Meta's revenue growth across key channels in India, the company said in a statement.

"India's largest businesses and agencies are playing a crucial role in the country's expanding digital economy and are building innovative business models that are inspiring marketers globally," said Srinivas.

Before joining Meta, he was the CEO of the e-commerce division of the Tata Group, Tata CLiQ. Purohit resigned in October 2022, after a six-year stint. He has over 20 years of experience in senior business, sales, and marketing roles at companies including Amazon, Reliance Brands Limited, Aditya Birla Group, and Tommy Hilfiger.

To recall, earlier in November, Meta had appointed Sandhya Devanathan as its India Head. She succeeded Ajit Mohan, who joined Snap to lead its Asia Pacific business.

Devanathan will focus on bringing the organisation’s business and revenue priorities together to serve its partners and clients while continuing to support the long-term growth of its business and commitment to the country. As part of her role, Devanathan will spearhead the company’s India charter and strengthen the strategic relationships with the country’s leading brands, creators, advertisers, and partners to drive Meta’s revenue growth in key channels in the country.
