Elon Musk Posts Insensitive Tweet Following Donald Trump's 2nd Assassination Attempt: 'No One Trying To Assassinate...'

Musk has been vocal in his support of Trump in the lead-up to the upcoming US presidential election. Trump, in turn, has praised Musk for his leadership.

Elon Musk, the billionaire owner of X (formerly Twitter), has stirred controversy with his comments about recent assassination attempts targeting former US President Donald Trump. In a provocative statement, Musk questioned why no similar threats are being made against current President Joe Biden or Vice President Kamala Harris.

Musk's remarks came in response to a query from an X user with the handle @cb_doge, who asked why Trump is being targeted. The Tesla CEO replied:

Typically tasteless of Musk, the comments follow a second reported attempt on Trump's life. Over the weekend, gunshots were fired outside a Florida golf course where the former president was playing. Authorities later apprehended the suspect, who had abandoned an AK-47-style rifle at the scene and fled in a vehicle.

This latest incident occurred just two months after a separate shooting at a Trump campaign rally in Pennsylvania, during which Trump sustained a minor injury to his ear.

Trump’s campaign team confirmed his safety following the latest attack. "President Trump is safe following gunshots in his vicinity. No further details at this time," said Steven Cheung, Trump Campaign Communications Director.

In a message to his supporters, Trump reassured them of his safety, declaring, "I AM SAFE AND WELL! Nothing will slow me down. I will NEVER SURRENDER!"

Musk has been vocal in his support of Trump in the lead-up to the upcoming US presidential election. Trump, in turn, has praised Musk for his leadership at the social media platform X, hinting that the tech mogul could have a role in his administration should he win the election in November.
