Stuart Binny's wife Mayanti Langer hits back at trollers

New Delhi: Trolling on social media platform has become a nuisance these days. And, people famous in public sphere are the worst victims of this abominable exercise. Recently, popular sports anchor Mayanti Langer suffered at the hands of trollers. Though it wasn’t the first time that she became the target of social media bullies, the recent incident broke her patience. Mayanti is the wife of Indian cricketer Stuart Binny, who played the first T20I against the West Indies at Lauderhill in Florida, USA, where bowlers from both the teams were thrashed mercilessly in what turned out to be the highest scoring T20I game ever. In a sensational batting display, West Indies batsmen hammered hapless Indian bowlers for a record 21 sixes as they posted 245 for 6 – third highest T20 International score ever. Binny was also meted the same treatment, even worse. He bowled the 11th over of the innings and was hit for five sixes by opener Evin Lewis for a total of 32 runs, narrowly escaping the ignominy of conceding six sixes in an over. Such thrashings are not rare in T20 cricket but many people posted sexist tweets directed at Mayanti as if she was responsible for Binny's performance. Here are a few of them:       Pissed with mindless trolling, Mayanti on Thursday decided to give it back. But she did it as gracefully as she does her TV job. Mayanti in her tweet said, "I hope no one ever demands the death of your loved ones or sends you violent images threatening the same. Taunting me with suicide is shameful. Think of the families that suffer because of this tragedy and you have reduced their plight to a joke." She further took their case by saying, "I hope you find love and loyalty. By suggesting divorce, suggests you haven't. I've been working since I was 18. Instead of calling me a gold-digger, go get a job and earn the right to support yourself and your families." "I hope bullying us made you feel better about yourselves, cause otherwise was it really worth it?" asks Mayanti, ending with a 'wishing you all the best.'
