Rain prevents result in England-Sri Lanka 3rd ODI

BRISTOL (England): Rain prevented a result in the third one-day international between England and Sri Lanka on Sunday, leaving England 1-0 up in the series with two matches to go.
Put in to bat by England, Sri Lanka struggled to 248-9 at Bristol's County Ground despite half-centuries from three batsmen. England was 16-1 after four overs when the rain came down. For Sri Lanka, Kusal Mendis (53), Dinesh Chandimal (62) and captain Angelo Mathews (56) all passed 50 but none of them could convert those innings into big scores. Upul Tharanga added 40 from 33 balls down the order but the tourists finished on a modest total. Chris Woakes took two wickets with his last two deliveries in his 3-34 and fellow seamer Liam Plunkett had 3-46 for England.
