PCB Faces Scheduling Challenge For PSL 2022, Likely To Collide With IPL 2022

International players participating in IPL 2022 will not be able to play in the next season of Pakistan Premier League (PSL) if both T20 leagues' schedules clash.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will most likely face scheduling problems for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2020 as the board is thinking of hosting a home series in February-March window against Australia, which is the usual window occupied by Pakistan Super League.

Not only this, but PSL 2022 could also collide with IPL 2022. Many foreign players who play in the IPL also participate in the Pakistan Super League. Pakistan Cricket Board usually organizes PSL in February-March.

At the same time, in the year 2022, during this time the Australian team is likely to tour Pakistan.According to the reports, due to this, the PCB is planning to conduct the PSL in April-May. Meanwhile, BCCI also organizes the IPL in the April-May window.

In such a situation, foreign players playing in the IPL will not be able to take part in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). The remaining matches of IPL 2021 are yet to be played. In IPL 2022, 10 teams will reportedly participate instead of 8. However, international players participating in IPL 2022 will not be able to play in the next season of Pakistan Premier League (PSL) if both T20 leagues' schedules clash.

Here's why PCB can't let PSL’s scheduling impact its international season

Australia's tour of Pakistan is also important for Pakistan, as the Aussies have not visited Pakistan since 1998-99. International cricket could not take place in Pakistan for many years after the terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan team. PSL takes 47 days for a season thus there is another window between December 25 to February 15.
