Former cricketer Yashpal Sharma, a member of the world-winning Indian cricket team in 1983, passed away at the age of 66 due to a heart attack. There is a wave of mourning in the cricket world due to his death. Former Indian cricket team captain Kapil Dev condoled the death of Yashpal Sharma. While talking to ABP News, Kapil Dev got emotional and cried while remembering his old friend.
Reacting to the death of Yashpal Sharma, Kapil Dev told ABP News, 'We met only last week. We cannot fight with the will of God. After the news of his death, I am finding it difficult to handle myself emotionally."

Former cricketer Dilip Vengsarkar also mourned the death of Yashpal Sharma and shared some old memories. Talking to ABP News, he said, "Both of us had played a lot of cricket together and also made many important partnerships for India. I feel very sad. Can't believe this news. We met only a week ago and he seemed quite fit. Didn't even expect such thing to happen."
Born in Ludhiana, Punjab, Yashpal Sharma breathed his last at the age of 66. Yashpal Sharma has also been the selector of Team India. He played an important role in Test and ODI cricket for Team India.
The former India batsman reportedly went for a morning walk today and after returning from the walk, he said at home that he was feeling a little strange. He also complained of chest pain after which an attempt was made to take him to the hospital immediately, but he died before reaching the hospital at 7.40 am. He is survived by wife, two daughters and a son.
