Jasprit Bumrah Shares Photo Of Broken Stumps, Hints 'Comeback With A Bang'
On his road to recovery from injury, Jasprit Bumrah tweeted a picture of the middle stump broken in the nets, hinting that he is on course to make a comeback with a bang
Mumbai: India star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah is recovering at a steady pace from his injury and is likely to make a comeback into the Indian squad when they take on New Zealand for a two-match series in February 2020.
After leading the bowling attack in World Cup 2019, Bumrah suffered a stress fracture on his lower back in September during Windies tour that saw him getting ruled out from home series against South Africa and subsequently miss the T20I and Test series against Bangladesh on home soil.
Meanwhile, on his road to recovery from injury, Bumrah tweeted a picture of the middle stump broken in the nets, hinting that he is on course to make a comeback with a bang.
"The End. #ForTheSessionAndTheStumps," Bumrah said in a tweet.
Talking about Bumrah’s recovery, chief selector MSK Prasad emphasised that it is not possible for Bumrah to make a comeback before next month as the team management is still waiting for a report on him. But of course, the star bowler is expected to be back for the New Zealand series. “He (Bumrah) is gradually getting back to full fitness, though we need to hear from the people working on his recovery. His return cannot be before next month as we are still waiting for a report on him. But of course, he is expected to be back for the New Zealand series,” Prasad was quoted by The Telegraph during maiden day-night Test between India and Bangladesh at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The End. #ForTheSessionAndTheStumps 🔥🔥 pic.twitter.com/79loGeUqgT
