WATCH: David Warner Left Frustrated As Dinesh Karthik Escapes ‘Obstructing The Field’ Dismissal
The incident transpired in the 19th over of the first innings, speedster Mukesh bowled a near-perfect Yorker to Lomror and the number 4 batter pushed the ball before it rolled back to the bowler.
In the Match 50 of the 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League, Delhi Capitals defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. The Delhi-based franchise chased down the total of 182 runs put up by RCB, in just 16.4 overs with the help of Phil Salt’s knock of 87 off 45. However, it was David Warner and Dinesh Karthik who hogged the limelight during the game.
The incident transpired in the 19th over of the first innings, speedster Mukesh Kumar bowled a near-perfect Yorker to Mahipal Lomror and the number 4 batter pushed the ball before it rolled back to the bowler. Dinesh Karthik then found this as a chance to get a quick single and went for one but Lomror was not interested.
Don't know how Dinesh Karthik felt he could steal a run there.

But having said that, he should been given out for obstructing the field.
Silly to think why the umpires didn't go upstairs when they seem to be going upstairs even for some obvious ones.

Since the left-hander did not want to take that single, Karthik realized it late and went back into his crease. By then, Mukesh had grabbed the ball but then he could not make a direct hit as Karthik was spotted running straight in the line of the stumps.
As the incident took place, David Warner got angry at the RCB’s wicketkeeper. A verbal banter took place between the two after the incident happened. Even after so much of drama, Delhi Capitals did not make an appeal for obstructing the field.
Talking about the match in detail, RCB scored a decent total of 181/4 in the first innings with the help of fifties from Virat Kohli (55 off 46) and Mahipal Lomror (54 off 29). Skipper Faf du Plessis also contributed with 45 runs.
In reply, Delhi Capitals chased down the target with the help of Phil Salt’s innings of 87 runs off just 45 balls. Apart from Salt, Mitchell Marsh smashed 26 off 17, and Rilee Rossouw and Axar Patel remained unbeaten on 35 off 22 and 8 off 3, respectively, helping his team win the game.
