IPL 2025 Auction Start Time Changed To Avoid Overlap With IND vs AUS Perth Test

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) reportedly made this change following a request from broadcasters of IPL 2025 Auction.

With just two days left for Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 Auction, scheduled for November 24 and 25 in Saudi Arabia's Jeddah, the event's start time has been revised. The adjustment comes to avoid a scheduling conflict with ongoing India vs Australia 1st Test match in Perth, part of the IND vs AUS Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) reportedly made this change following a request from broadcasters of IPL 2025 Auction.

Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 Auction, set to stream live on JioCinema, has seen a slight shift in its schedule. Initially planned to start at 3 PM IST, the event will now begin at 3:30 PM IST following a request from the broadcasters.

Broadcasters expressed concerns about Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 Auction coinciding with India vs Australia Test match in Perth, scheduled from November 22 to 26. While the Test match is expected to conclude at 2:30 PM IST each day, unforeseen delays due to weather, poor light, or slow over rates could extend play. To avoid any overlap, broadcasters requested a half-hour delay in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 auction's start time.

A scheduling conflict between India vs Australia Test match and IPL 2025 Auction could have severly impacted Disney+Hotstar. The platform holds TV rights for IPL 2025 Auction and both digital and TV rights for India's tour of Australia. With IPL 2025 Auction evolving into a highly anticipated event that attracts millions of viewers, avoiding an overlap was crucial for maximizing audience engagement and viewership.
