The adjustment comes to avoid a scheduling conflict with ongoing India vs Australia 1st Test match in Perth, part of the IND vs AUS Border-Gavaskar Trophy. While the Test match is expected to conclude at 2:30 PM IST each day, unforeseen delays due to weather, poor light, or slow over rates could extend play. To avoid any overlap, broadcasters requested a half-hour delay in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 auction's start time.

According to a report by Cricbuzz, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced dates for the next three IPL seasons. The 2025 season will take place from March 14 (Friday) to May 25 (Sunday). The 2026 season is scheduled from March 15 (Sunday) to May 31 (Sunday), while the 2027 edition will run from March 14 (Sunday) to May 30 (Sunday).
