IPL 2020: MS Dhoni, Chennai Super Kings Finally Start Practice In UAE

IPL 2020: The tournament opener on September 19 is expected to be played between the Super Kings and Mumbai Indians.

Three-times IPL champion Chennai Super Kings (CSK) finally stared training as they took to nets after all their members barring the 13 positive cases tested negative for the dreaded Coronavirus (Covid-19). Earlier, the franchise was forced to postpone the start of its training after CSK's two players Deepak Chahar and Ruturaj Gaikwad tested positive for Covid-19. MS Dhoni announced his retirement from cricket on August 15 and it will be a treat for the fans to watch him getting back in action after almost a year. The 39-year-old last played cricket during Ind vs NZ ICC 2019 World Cup in England.

Chennai Super Kings are going through a rough patch as their two star players -- senior batsman Suresh Raina and veteran spinner Harbhajan Singh -- have both declared their unavailability for the season.

Meanwhile, Suresh Raina in an interview indicated that he might return to play the 13th edition of the tournament in the United Arab of Emirates (UAE). “I’ve been training even while quarantining here. You never know you might see me in the camp there again,” Raina told Cricbuzz.

“It was a personal decision and I had to come back for my family. There was something that needed to be addressed immediately on the home front,” he said.
