New Delhi: Following a humiliating 5-0 defeat in the ODI series at the hands of Kiwis, Virat-led team India will look for redemption when they take on New Zealand in the two-match Test series, starting Friday. The first Test between the two teams will be played at Basin Reserve in Wellington. Indian cricket team's record at the venue has not been good as they have won just one Test match out of the seven Test matches played at Wellington so far. It was under legendary cricketer and former captain Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi’s captaincy, India last won a Test match in Wellington in 1968 - which was also the 1st ever Test played at the venue. Since then, they have lost four Test games while two matches ended in a draw at the venue. India have only won just one Test (under Pataudi’s captaincy) out of seven Test matches played at the Wellington so far. Overall, India have won just five Test games out of 23 Tests they have so far played in New  Zealand.
